BICO group design system is a resource used by all 14 subsidiary companies within the BICO group. The purouse of the design system is to enable designers within the group to create consistent designs that follow our brand guidelines, in a smart and time effective way, whithout restricting creativity.
One of my favorite things is finding new, fun, engaging and efficent ways of wokring. When we started up this project we where a very new team off designers that had no processes in place, therefore one of the important goals was also to figure out how we wanted to work together. We started up a weekly meeting to discuss our progress and issues, a voting board to discuss issues while reducing the need for endless meetings with discussions, and workflow board to track our progress.
While creating the design system a lot of focus also went into documentation and creating guidelines so that other designers within the group would be able to contribute. For each component best practice information was added and examples of use.
